 FORMER PIXAR EXECUTIVE NAMED CEO OF SHOCKWAVE.COM 

SAN FRANCISCO, CA  June 13, 2000  shockwave.com today announced it has appointed former Pixar Animation Studios executive Lawrence Levy as its president and CEO.  Levy also joins the board of directors of the company.

The appointment is effective June 19.  Rob Burgess continues as chairman of shockwave.com and chairman and chief executive officer of Macromedia. 

Macromedia created shockwave.com to pioneer the next generation of consumer entertainment on the Web and to develop new business models for original content creators, said Rob Burgess, Macromedia chairman and chief executive officer.  Lawrence has a unique combination of entertainment, technology and business experience which make him an ideal person to lead shockwave.com to the next level. 

Levy, 41, was formerly office of the president member, executive vice president, and chief financial officer at Pixar where he ran business operations and was responsible for Pixars 1995 initial public offering.

During his tenure, Pixar developed and produced the blockbuster animated hits Toy Story, A Bugs Life and Toy Story 2.  Prior to Pixar, Levy was vice chairman and chief financial officer at EFI (Electronics for Imaging), which he also took public.  Levy has business and law degrees from Indiana University and Harvard Law School.  He presently sits on the boards of Pixar and EXP.com.
