MACROMEDIA CUSTOMERS SWEEP TOP CLIO INTERACTIVE AWARDS

Winner of the Grand Clio and four of six Gold Clio winners used Macromedia products to create award-winning interactive work 

San Francisco, California  June 1, 2000  Macromedia, Inc. (NASDAQ: MACR), today saluted the designers and agencies that used Macromedia products to dominate the prestigious Clio Awards with their groundbreaking creative interactive work. Four of the six Gold Clio award winners and the majority of the 90 Clio Award finalists in the interactive category used Macromedia products. Arnold Communications of Boston took top honors, winning both a Grand and a Gold Clio for the turbonium.com site. The site, built entirely with Macromedia(R) Flash(TM), delivers a high-impact, high production value Web experience for users at every bandwidth. 

"Turbonium is all about the future," said Bill Whelan, associate creative director of Arnold Communications.  "Its all about technology.  We had just three weeks to build the Web site.  Macromedia Flash was the only way to go.

It was the only way to deliver a futuristic, multi-media experience on the Web in a timely fashion.  The site went up on time and sales went through the roof." 

The other Clio Gold winners (complete list of winners available on

http://www.clioawards.com) that used one or more Macromedia products were Columbia TriStar Interactive for the film The Messenger, Blast Radius for work on Casio G-Shock watches, and Deepend, London, for the London Design Museum site. The winners and finalists used a range of award-winning Macromedia products, including Macromedia Flash, Director(R), Dreamweaver(R), Fireworks(R) and FreeHand(R), to build their compelling and engaging Web sites. The Clio Awards is the largest and most prestigious advertising awards competition in the world.
